I finally got my grimy little hands on a Kindle 2…no, I didn’t buy one (recession and all), but Melba, my colleague, received one as a birthday gift. I really didn’t think I would enjoy it so much because I really love books. I often jot notes in the margins, underline relevant story lines or quotes and have even been known to dog ear a page (shocking, I know). I also enjoy digging through my overflowing bookshelves. But, the Kindle 2 is pretty cool. It is so much easier than carrying a heavy book around with you. It has a note taking feature as well as a bookmark feature. And, it has a dictionary so you can look up the definition of any word you don’t know. You will never get the same feeling of cracking open the spine of a new book, but it is a pretty cool gadget for someone who enjoys reading.
